- Perform HVAC Control systems programming, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning and preventative maintenance as it is related to mechanical, electrical, and low voltage controls components.

How you will do it:

Duties
- Provide technical assistance, facilitates and advises the Field Office Manager on building operating systems including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, energy management, plumbing, fire safety, vertical transportation systems (elevators/escalators), security and controls. In addition, provide technical oversight for exterior building maintenance, window washing, landscaping and related exterior systems.
- Analyze building system problems or deficiencies and recommend corrective actions based on developing required data to identify causes of problem using personal knowledge and experience, building equipment history, operation, repair and other data.
- Conduct analysis of contracts, energy consumption, building system operations and maintenance operation programs and schedules to ensure asset preservation and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare, monitor, inspect and assist in the administration of a variety of contracts for maintenance and construction projects. Prepare specifications, statement of work, and drawings for Property Management Team major and minor repair work; including systems operating modifications. Inspects and conducts performance tests on repaired and modified equipment to insure contract conformance. Review and analyze plans, drawings specifications and project directives to ensure that the proposed design for new construction and major repair contracts includes features required for economical maintenance and optimum performance on building mechanical systems and associated equipment. Monitor new construction contracts to ensure contract compliance for optimum equipment effectiveness. Monitor operation performance during contract warranty periods in unison with the Design and Construction Division and ensure corrective action on defects.
- Coordinate and facilitate customer activities and reimbursable work by adjusting and monitoring building systems and coordinate the delivery of services and materials.

The GS-11 salary range starts at $69,107 (Boise & Richland), and $74,137 (Portland) per year.
The GS-12 salary range starts at $82,830 (Boise & Richland), and $88,860 (Portland) per year.

To qualify for the GS-11:
You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level. The Digital Services Building Engineer (DSE) assembles customer HVAC assets in Siemens cloud analytics software to enable ongoing Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD) analysis. During lifecycle, the DSE monitors HVAC equipment performance and either reports findings to the customer or coordinates with remote or onsite automation and/or mechanical specialists to resolve the faults identified at the customer's building.
This role is part of the Data Driven Services group in Siemens Smart Infrastructure Digital Service Center (DSC). Our goal is to turn building data into intelligence that yield building owners and service teams with informed recommendations to improve building performance. We strive to reduce energy usage and improve HVAC equipment and system reliability. In this role you will help ensure that buildings run the way they were designed or update control methodologies to improve operation and maximize energy efficiency. You will have the opportunity to work with teams across the US and Canada to optimize building performance across a wide range of building types and industries.
The DSC is headquartered in Austin, Texas. Our team is constantly growing due to an expanding presence in our market. We are looking for new hires in one of two DSE levels based on certifications and years of experience.
Basic Qualifications:
+ S. in Mechanical Engineering or applicable technical degree
+ Certification:
+ Level II: CEM & Engineer in Training (EIT) or PE License preferred
+ Level III: CEM or PE License required
+ Experience:
+ Level II: 4 - 8 years of energy management or HVAC systems / controls design experience
+ Level III: 8+ years of energy management or HVAC system / controls design experience, advanced degrees preferred
+ Effective communication skills to speak with building engineers, maintenance personnel, and/or C-level executives

+ Become a subject matter expert of Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs) for HVAC systems
+ Compile customer facing reports and list of action items for operational improvements
+ Estimate energy and operational cost savings associated with identified faults and/or operational improvements
+ Study customer building management system (BMS) and mechanical design documents to select data points for analysis and to understand the existing operational intent.
+ Select rules to be applied for FDD, considering the relationship and interdependency of multiple building systems and their equipment.
+ Develop project structure and equipment parent/child relationships
+ Consult in the development of digital service offerings (feasibility, workflow, software, reporting structure, cost estimates etc.)
+ Collaborate with software development teams to discuss workflow and software product requirements
+ Contribute to rule development and improved data analysis strategies
+ Lead customer report presentations via Teams (video & screenshare)
