We have three levels of Technician’s:

DIESEL MECHANIC/TECHNICIAN I – EXPERIENCED

  • 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred)
  • Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred)
  • Experienced using all tools of the trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools)
  • Valid CDL driver’s license (must also have or be willing to get an air brake certification)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to travel as necessary within the district (customers’ yards, close geographical area, and training sites), work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background screening (to include criminal checks, past employment, and education) and pass a drug screening
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

DIESEL TECHNICIAN/MECHANIC II – MID-LEVEL

  • 2-4 years of practical experience with tractor-trailer maintenance required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Vocational/Technical or certification preferred
  • Specialized training in the repair and replacement of vehicle components preferred
  • Proficiency in the use of shop tools required
  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of - with some assistance: Engines (gas and diesel), Power train to include differentials, transmissions, clutches, driveshaft’s, PTO's and wheel ends, Electrical systems including starters and alternators, HVAC systems, Steering systems, Electronics to include ECM's, ECU's, sensors etc., Engine bolt-on items such as turbos, fan clutches, injectors, cooling system etc., Brake systems including ABS, Suspension systems (spring and air)
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Willingness to travel as necessary within the district (customers yards, close geographical area, and training sites), work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.

DIESEL TECHNICIAN/MECHANIC III - ENTRY LEVEL

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license (must also have or be able to get a CDL license within 6 months)
  • High school diploma (required); vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred)
  • The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
  • Excellent customer service skills and communication skills
  • the ability to work well as part of a team and outside
  • Basic computer skills
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
  • Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
  • Doing preventative maintenance repairs—like replacing or rotating tires—and completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
  • Partnering with your manager to learn new skills using Penske’s technician training and hands-on coaching
  • Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE FUELER/WASHER –

  • Greeting our customers and making sure, they have a great experience as you fuel and wash vehicles
  • Performing vehicle readiness inspections to make sure tires, fluids, and other basic maintenance items are done
  • Helping make sure our facilities are clean, safe environments for our customers and associates
  • Building your skills through training and hands-on coaching to perform minor repairs such as installing mounted tires, replacing or rotating tires and performing preventive maintenance repairs
  • Completing other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Sensible Air Systems Inc is hiring seasoned HVAC service technicians to support our commercial contracting and installation group. You will work with numerous systems, to prepare for start up, start up, maintain, diagnose and correct HVAC system problems. This includes replacing parts and adjusting system controls for better performance by using special tools and diagnostic equipment. Some overnight travel will be required. Applicants MUST have at least 3 or more years of relevant experience with commercial HVAC employers to receive consideration for this position. Requisite skills include extensive technical knowledge and experience servicing and maintaining forced air heating and cooling equipment, heat pumps, ductless mini splits, hot water boilers, rooftop units and ability to explain technical and financial matters to customers.

Candidates must also be able to read blueprints, situate, configure and wire low voltage systems according to manufacturer specifications and braze and solder, where necessary. Ideal candidates can multi-task, pay attention to detail, solve problems, work well independently and in teams, and maintain customer trust and respect. Commercial experience is ideal, however we would consider residential technicians, with some light commercial work experience.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible to assist in the repair and overhaul equipment, refrigeration, heating and ventilation equipment to ensure customer needs are met efficiently, accurately and on-time.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides service to the customer base by repairing and overhauling equipment, such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient and timely manner that exceeds customers’ expectations
  • Provides general repair work on refrigeration, heating and ventilation equipment, such as air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors and electric motors in a safe and timely manner.
  • Provides preventative maintenance activities for customers by diagnosing equipment malfunction and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipment to ensure quality work performance for the customer base.
  • Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills.
  • Maintain legible corporate and personal records of work history.
  • Provides department support by processing job tickets, work orders to the necessary department in a timely manner.
  • Provides support by picking up, delivering and installing cases.
  • Perform work on minor construction and remodeling projects including startups of new installations.
  • Drives company vehicle in a safe manner.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by management.



JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • EPA certification.
  • Certification from an accredited vocational-technical or trade school a plus!
  • Minimum 6 months to a year of commercial refrigeration experience required.
  • Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets.
  • Has experience with single systems and rack systems along with previous work on display cases and walk-in boxes.
  • Must have a good driving record and be able to work independently.
  • Emergency on-call availability is a basic requirement.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. with no assistance and also be able to sit and/or stand for several hours at a time.

Properly service or perform preventative maintenance on the equipment or machines based on manufacture requirements or guidelines. Lubricates and cleans parts. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Starts devices to test their performance.
Sets up and operate industrial equipment and tools to make and repair equipment and install parts.
Maintain the appropriate service and repair documentation required by law and company policy for the refrigeration system.
Lighting, plumbing, heating & air conditioning and all other equipment and PM Maintenance assigned to them.
Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
