Position Summary:
This position is responsible to assist in the repair and overhaul equipment, refrigeration, heating and ventilation equipment to ensure customer needs are met efficiently, accurately and on-time.

Requirements:

    • High school diploma/GED.
    • EPA certification.
    • Certification from an accredited vocational-technical or trade school a plus!
    • Minimum 3-4 years of commercial refrigeration experience required.
    • Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets a strong plus.
    • Familiarity with single systems and rack systems along with previous work on display cases and walk-in boxes is very helpful.
    • Must have a good driving record and be able to work independently.
    • Emergency on-call availability is a basic requirement.
    • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. with no assistance and also be able to sit and/or stand for several hours at a time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides service to the customer base by repairing and overhauling equipment, such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient and timely manner that exceeds customers’ expectations
  • Provides general repair work on refrigeration, heating and ventilation equipment, such as air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors and electric motors in a safe and timely manner.
  • Provides preventative maintenance activities for customers by diagnosing equipment malfunction and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipment to ensure quality work performance for the customer base.
  • Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills.
  • Maintain legible corporate and personal records of work history.
  • Provides department support by processing job tickets, work orders to the necessary department in a timely manner.
  • Provides support by picking up, delivering and installing cases.
  • Perform work on minor construction and remodeling projects including startups of new installations.
  • Drives company vehicle in a safe manner.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by management.

The Role

Basic level installation, decommissioning and troubleshooting problems of network equipment and circuits. Responsible for preventative and demand maintenance of the network, critical infrastructure, materials management, and becomes familiar with the company's systems and applications. In some instances, may be responsible for the outside plant network in a given geographic boundary, including metro and long haul fibers.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for asset management: processes deliveries and replenishes consumables as well as coordinates shipping and receiving of materials.
  • Maintains tools, test sets, and electronic equipment including, but not limited to: fiber optic transmission equipment, lightwave multiplexing equipment, AC and DC power equipment.
  • Assists in installs, provisions, tests, and maintains DS0 thru OC192 services. May install and test transmission/switching equipment.
  • Troubleshoots network equipment, removes and replaces defective modules, tracks spares and ensures repair.
  • Monitors/locates route and assists in executing restoration in the event of a service interruption, proactively responds to potential problem areas in order to ensure integrity of the network.
  • Responsible for learning all of the systems and applications required to perform the job function adequately.
  • Updates installation records, enters appropriate detailed log information on trouble tickets for reference, and provides reports to others on status updates and issues related to assignments.
  • Performs preventive/scheduled maintenance and inspections on equipment and on the critical infrastructure including, but not limited to: HVAC systems, high-voltage electrical systems, DC Power Plants

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED or up to 2 years of relevant job experience including 1+ years network monitoring, installation, or maintenance/repair.
  • Entry-level technician with experience and/or knowledge of at least one of the four major technician disciplines: Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7), TCP/IP (routers/higher-layer protocols), and Outside Plant (Fiber locating, OTDR, Mass Fusion Splicing, etc.).
  • Have knowledge of locating fiber optic cable, right-of-way, and As-Builts.
  • Must maintain site security and cleanliness.
  • Must have PC skills and be well versed in Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
  • Must possess the ability to quickly learn corporate databases.
  • On-call 24x7 on a rotational basis, on stand-by, call out, dispatch, and overtime are required as dictated by the business.
  • A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; lift 75 lbs.; works in all weather conditions

How you will do it

Qualifications 


What we look for 
Required
1. Five (5) or more years of experience in servicing/programming/commissioning HVAC direct digital control (DDC) systems, preferably with Metasys.
2. Ability to coordinate the work of others on multiple job sites.
3. Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
4. Possesses the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.

Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Academic coursework at graduate school level in Computer Aided Mechanical Engineering Design required.

Description:

1.Creates positive professional relationships with homeowners, residents and guests. Exudes genuine Aloha Spirit; caring, giving and positive energy.

2.Provides direction and support to Housekeeping personnel, including relief Pool Operator, Landscaper, Housekeeping and Housemen staff.

3.Performs routine general and preventive cleaning and maintenance of the Waiea establishment, equipment, and furniture using hand or power tools in accordance with internal housekeeping standards, blueprints, manuals, or safety and building codes.

4.Performs general repairs of furniture, air conditioning unit filters, fixtures, light fixtures, chairs, and other fixtures throughout the facility, including: bark park, exhaust vents, children’s play area, BBQ cabanas, and trash compactors.

5.Performs specialized repair or replacement of irrigation plumbing as needed. Cleans and conducts preparation for general and finish painting using painting tools and power sprayers.

6.Assists management with the development and implementation of an inventory control system.

7.Maintains cleanliness of all main and ancillary equipment rooms.

8.Maintains trash rooms, trash bins, recycle bins.

9.Reports any damage to property or broken lights; reports and removes any safety hazards.

10.Installs equipment, fixtures, appliances, and specialized lighting for Christmas and other special events, as directed by the General Manger.

11.Keeps supplies, tools, equipment, and inventory clean, organized, and in working order.

12.Requisitions and picks up supplies, equipment, or tools required to complete assigned duties and responsibilities.

13.Maintains a daily log of all work performed: records work performed, time required, and other relevant data.

14.Is on-call for emergency responses when requested by residential specialist or management.

15.Conducts periodic and ongoing inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment. Reports all discrepancies to the Director of Facilities or upper management staff.

16.Conducts an inspection of the grounds and facilities of the complex following inclement weather conditions to determine if repairs or adjustments are in order: i.e., wind-blown flower or tree holders, wires, windows, etc.

17.Performs other related duties as directed or required

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

1.Experience:

a.Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the U.S.

b.Three (3) years’ experience in general maintenance duties and facility in the use of power and hand tools.

c.Minimum three (3) years’ supervisory experience.

d.Previous experience in hotel, condominium, and residential units preferred.

e.Able to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays. Standard shifts include the following: First Shift: 5:30am – 2pm; Second Shift: 8am – 4:30pm; Third Shift: 1:30pm – 10pm.

2.Knowledge:

a.Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

b.Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

c.Demonstrated ability in performing a wide range of maintenance skills including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, painting, and pool maintenance.

d.Understanding of computer software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

e.Knowledge in safety practices and sanitary procedures; proper lifting techniques; and rules, regulations, and procedures to properly dispose of hazardous fluids, bloodborne pathogens, and chemicals.

f.Ability to read and write English at a level consistent with completing necessary forms and logs. Ability to speak conversational English.

3.Education/Training:

a.High school diploma or equivalent required.

b.Trades education or training is highly desirable.

c.CPR and First Aid certification required.

d.Must possess a valid Hawaii driver's license.

e.Must renew all required certifications or licenses prior to expiration for continuous employment.
